Fluffy and healthy, Best Whole Wheat Waffles are divine with fresh berries and cream. Filled with fiber, so satisfying, they are a welcome weekend family treat.

  • 2 cups wheat flour
  • 1 cup white flour
  • ½ cup powdered milk
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 Tablespoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ⅓ cup oil, (used canola)
  • 4 eggs, (separated)
  • 2 cups water
  1. Preheat waffle maker while you're making the batter.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flours, milk, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Combine water, egg yolks, and oil and add to the dry ingredients.
  4. Whip egg whites until they form peaks when you remove the beaters. Fold them into the batter.
  5. Cook according to the directions that came with your waffle iron.
  6. Keep the waffles warm while you cook them all.
  7. Serve with butter, maple syrup, mixed berries, and whipped cream if desired.
