Recipe type: Dessert
Cuisine: American
Serves: 12 servings
Ingredients
  • ½ pound soft butter
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 cups flour
  • ½ tsp.baking powder
  • dash of salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
Instructions
  1. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat for 2 minutes. Add flour, baking soda, and salt and mix well. Add the buttermilk and beat for 2 more minutes.
  2. Pour into well-greased and floured bundt pan.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Test the cake with a toothpick to make sure it is done. The toothpick will come out clean if it is. If not, add up to 15 more minutes of bake time...ovens do vary. This makes 1 full-size bundt cake, or 2 loaf pans.
  4. It's delicious served with fresh fruit and cream, or fruit sauce, or sundae toppings, and ice cream.

May you be a host or hostess with the mostess!

I could never make anything this good looking and save it in my freezer. It would have to be for company coming that day. Otherwise, it gets eaten.

Don’t you think that buttermilk makes the best cake? Yours looks delicious and I think we all should have those items in our fridge or pantry. Love Baker’s Joy too. Joni

One of my very favorite foods in the whole world. Yum!! Poundcake with strawberries….my heart by still.

I wanted to let you know that I made your flank steak pinwheels with soy sauce and the mango salsa. Hit, bit hit in my house. Hubby was wanting to take the leftovers to work today for lunch. Easy to make and tastes like a million bucks. Thanks for sharing those recipes.
