Olive Pimento Cheese Ball

It’s almost Christmas…and I’m feeling cheesy!
No, I’m not ready for Christmas, not even close, and my kiddos are coming to town soon.
Olive Pimento Cheese Ball
I did get a couple of Olive Pimento Cheese Balls whipped together in myfood processor, yeah, they are made and in the freezer and thought it would be nice to share them here.
Actually, this one is a cheese-log, but you could make a star or tree in a mold, any shape that’s eye-catching and festive for the holidays.
My teen girlfriend, Kim and I used to buy pricey cheese spread that came in a little jar and slather wheat thins with it. Those were the days! In her honor, a few years ago I created this cheeseball that is really delish. I have gifted it, partied with it, and shared it with lots of friends. It is one of my most requested recipes. If you’re not a fan of green olives stuffed with pimentos, black chopped olives will do. Give it a try, and let me know if you like it.
Serve Olive Pimento Cheese Ball with crackers, toasted bread…stars are fun, or fresh veggies. I always use lettuce leaves in place of carb-loaded crackers, or stuff some celery. Party on…watch for another cheesy goodie soon!
Olive-Pimento Cheeseball
Serves: 3 cheeseballs or logs
Ingredients
- 3 (8ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
- ½ teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 (7 ounce) jar pimento stuffed olives, drained and minced
- 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tablespoon hot pepper sauce
- ½ teaspoon seasoning salt, optional
- 1 pound Sharp Cheddar Cheese, shredded
- 1 cup pecans, coarsely chopped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Toast pecans for 6 to 8 minutes, watching carefully. They will burn easily. Remove from the oven and cool.
- With an electric mixer or food processor, combine cream cheese, garlic, olives, Worcestershire sauce, hot pepper sauce, and seasoning salt. Blend well. Add Chedder cheese and process until combined.
- Shape the mixture into 3 balls or logs. Wrap individually in plastic wrap and place in the freezer for 30 minutes. This will make each ball easier to handle.
- When well chilled, roll in toasted pecans.
Wishing you all holiday cheer!
This sounds great, I love olives! Merry Christmas:@)
I’m an olive lover too. Thanks Lynn!
This looks yummy!!! I think I’ll give it a try for my New Years party. What type of crackers are those. They look yummy!!!
Thanks Christine, the crackers are Mary’s Gone Crackers. I purchased them at Costco, they are vegan, gluten free, kosher, no trans-fats and quite healthy! Let me know if I can get some for you! Merry Christmas…
I just have to show this to the farm sister. She is crazy about olives and would love this! As a bonus, she would probably do all the work and bring it so that my entire contribution to the project would be the eating part. Woohooo!
Oh, I love pimento-stuffed olives so this looks just great to me! The green and red specks add some festive, holiday color 🙂 Copying and pasting this one!
We had a fun party last night and everyone brought appetizers. We were feeling cheesy too! I love anything like this. I can eat it straight from the spoon. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas.
Oh my goodness, that looks delicious. This looks like something I have to serve on New Year’s Eve. It was the pimento stuffed olives and pecans that caught my eye. I hope you and your family have a very Happy New Year.
Oh, this looks so festive just sitting on the plate with crackers. Great for many occasions too!
Happy New Year, sweet Friend!
I think we need to make that cheeseball for Superbowl Sunday…….or has that already happened.
Oh, well. It looks delicious enough it doesn’t need a special occasion!
